Photo Tour (January '10)

Entering the layout from the left, the train arrives from Alpine Junction with the caboose in the lead and the engine pushing.

Just before the mill is a small farmhouse on a hill. A number of workers built their homes near the mill using lumber in lieu of wages.

The loading shed is the first major structure of the mill complex. Box cars were loaded by hand here in the 1950s & 60. Now it is more of a storage area.

The tracks cross a creek which runs under the mill site. The lunch shack overlooks the tracks.

See some additional details, or go on a video tour.
